Groundcover Fixed My Retaining Wall
A couple of years ago I had a rock retaining wall put in my back yard. The whole point of my retaining wall was to retain my soil. Much to my surprise, large amounts of soil kept washing up through the spaces between the rocks. My hill was literally washing away. I didn’t know what to do. A friend of mine suggested groundcover. The thought hadn’t even crossed my mind.
I found a local nursery and bought several varieties of groundcover ranging from Ice Plant, Vinca, Veronica and Sedum. It took no more than one growing season and my wall quit washing away, and I had a beautiful garden. All of the varieties that I purchased have a blossom on them, and they tend to blossom at different times. I didn’t realize just how plain my yard looked until I saw it complete. My yard is beautiful thanks to my groundcover.
